OOTD | 1 | Watermelons

Found this beautiful (pink!) building on the way back from my (one of many) favourite brunch spots - Nora - in Carlton.

Nora is an absolute standard-setter in terms of Melbourne brunch. Inventive, artistic and delicious!

Winnie's Favourites | 1 | Totes, Totes, Totes!

Oh I love a good canvas tote bag! It is nonchalant, exceptionally versatile and dresses down an outfit to that understated outfit sweet spot. This workhorse bag is my wardrobe staple and up there with my exxy leather goods. Also as someone who dresses fairly monochrome, my tote bag is usually the funnest part of my outfit (positive or negative?! hrm). Oh yes, my appreciation of the tote bag runs deep!

Below I share my tote bag collection. Each has their own little story :)

1 | Kikki K Big Canvas tote

This tote reminds me of uni...and all those times I sat chilling on the lawn with my friends. So it consequently also reminds me of sunny days and green grass. I don't use it anymore though because it's too big for everyday use. Perfect for lugging around textbooks and a laptop though!

2 | Lee Ufan tote

This is my FAVOURITE of the bunch. I bought this tote at the Lee Ufan Museum on Naoshima Island, aka Art Island, in Japan. I missed the bus that comes every 45 minutes because I bought this bag! But it was well worth it. If I ever stained or lost this bag I would be very, very upset. All my love for and good-vibes felt towards Naoshima Island are carried with me through this bag.

3 | Deux tote

I bought this bag when I got lost in Hiroshima. It was an impulse purchase because the store was so cute I couldn't resist not leaving with something. Nonetheless this is actually one of my most versatile totes and has gone on the most cycling trips and yoga sessions with me.

4 | Emi Ueoka O! tote

This is my most recent addition. I discovered Emi's work at Supergraph Melbourne (mainly her artwork called "THOUGHTS") and was very impressed by her work. After doing some googling, I discovered her site and could not resist making this tote purchase! You can find her work on her website www.cup-of-tea.co or instagram @EMI_UEOKA.

5 | Lazy Oaf Half Full, Half Empty tote

I have used this tote so much...I should really wash it. I have used it so many times that I don't tie a certain memory to it, but rather a feeling. I just feel so happy using this tote! Purchased from asos.com.

6 | Leather tote

On those days that "bag lady" doesn't cut it, I upgrade to the closest thing - the raw leather tote bag. I bought this bag in Venice and in keeping with the theme, I got lost in Venice alleys and nearly missed a ferry because I bought this bag. Totes worth it though!

Favourite Places, Melbourne Spaces | 1 | Westgate Park Salt Lake, Port Melbourne

There is a pretty sight that appears every so often (due to natural conditions) under the Westgate Bridge - a pink salt lake! So actualising of my dreams, that as soon as I laid eyes on this pink enchantment they turned into pink love hearts! It is also the inspiration for my blog banner art. The name of my blog wabi + sabi comes from the Japanese words, wabi and sabi. Wabi-Sabi is the beauty and appreciation of things imperfect, simple and unconventional - which is perfectly embodied in the raw and erratic beauty of the lake.
